Oranges always remind me of the Christmas time as a child. The Christmas time I crated this painting was no different. Came back home after a family time together and the smell of oranges inspired once again.
This is chiaroscuro at its most classical - a single light source, a deep dark background, and the drama of what is revealed against what is left in shadow.
Abundance was selected for the Birmingham Open - a prestigious open art competition exhibited in Victoria Square, Birmingham - a recognition of the painting's quality and ambition.
