Commission An Oil Painting

For commissioned portraiture please visit Commission a Portrait Page

There is only a few spots available each year for commission pieces. If you like the way Marta describes the beauty of the landscape and writes stories through unique still life arrangements, please use the contact form to start the conversation.

The process:

By working with Marta you commit to clarifying your vision for the painting and providing the best reference photos, or ideas you can.

The photo reference you intend to get painted should be clear and in digital size large enough, for Marta to be able to see the detail.  Include all possible photos of the subject. If you'd like, you can include examples of what you would like the commission to look like, as to tone, and general feeling/focus. Is the background important or just supplementary to the piece, etc.

Remember that the quality of the reference dictates the potential of the final painting. The artist wants to make sure that all her commissioned works realize their potential by having adequate reference to work from.

A deposit will be required. Once the deposit is received, this secures your position. If the artist is not currently painting a previous commission, she will start working on your project immediately.

After around month 1 you will receive a photo of a sketch done in oils. This will be a sketch, and not a final painting, this is to align the vision for the final piece. Once the sketch is approved, Marta will proceed to the final painting.

Once the painting is complete, Marta will take a professional photo for your approval. Once the painting is accepted, artist will varnish the painting and the remainder of the payment will be due.

Once the final payment arrives, the artist will ship out your painting.
