I find that I paint a lot of serene landscapes when I try to calm myself, and find peace I lack in my life. When the times get a little more bumpy, I might even paint some dramatic landscape releasing the destructive or very intense emotions through paint. Placing people in landscape is very often a way of describing events and feelings that happened, in a less obvious way, more hidden and personal.
