He was found in the mud - grubby, forgotten, and entirely alone. Cleaned up, dried off, and placed on a shelf, he turned out to be rather wonderful: a small terracotta hippo with an expression somewhere between patience and mild indignation. He was painted in oil, small and intimate, just as he is. The original hangs in the artist's studio - this print is the only way to own him.

A note on limited editions

Once all 50 prints of a size are sold, that edition is closed permanently. No further prints will be made from that size. Each print is individually hand signed and numbered by Marta Stolarska - a genuine collector's piece from an artist whose original works sell out on arrival.

Every print is produced by hand in the artist's Suffolk studio, on a professional Epson fine art printer using six archival inks. No print factory, no third party - just the artist, the paper, and the printer.
