Moody Marsh

A companion piece to Winter Walk at Suffolk's Marshes, this painting returns to the same landscape around Oulton Broad, but catches it in an entirely different mood. The snow is still on the ground, but the sun has gone. Clouds sit low and heavy over the marsh, and the whole scene takes on that particular brooding quality that flat, open landscapes do so well when the light turns grey.

Where its companion painting is bright and full of wonder, Moody Marsh is quieter, more introspective - a painting for those who find beauty in overcast skies and the stillness of a cold, cloudy winter day. Together, the two paintings tell the full story of a Suffolk winter and a rare snow apperance.
