An old terracotta vessel with two handles, discovered at an antique shop and brought home to be painted. Nestled inside it, a handful of small, delicate flowers - fragile and fresh against the ancient warmth of the clay. The whole composition rests on a whitish old linen cloth, on a wooden shelf, as if it has always been there and always will be.
This is a painting about the beauty of simple, layered things - old and new, rough and delicate, earthy and floral. It is the kind of still life that feels like a memory.
